If you’re from Montréal and ride a motorcycle, chances are you know Édouard, the founder of the online motorcycle magazine ONELAND. A former healthcare manager, he left everything behind to follow his passion and to become a lifestyle, travel and motorcycle journalist, Édouard spends most of his time on the road, living out of his saddlebags. Riding for almost ten years, Édouard bought his first bike before he even got his license—a Harley® Sportster® named Janis, which he still owns today.
Growing up on a farm in New Zealand, Jay’s been riding motorcycles since the day his feet could touch the pedals. A former teacher, pro-surfer, VJ, and radio DJ, throughout all the twists and turns of Jay’s life, motorcycles have always been the one constant. Now an entrepreneur and father of twin boys, in what little free time he has, Jay can be found either in the ocean or on a motorcycle.
Obsessed with motorcycles since she was five, Johanna started riding on dirt bikes before graduating to a Harley®. Wanting to share her passion, in 2015, Johanna founded the Edmonton Chapter of The Litas, a global collective of women who ride, counting more than 2,800 members in 18 countries. A trained paramedic who works in the oilfields, Johanna is also an avid scuba diver, rock climber, ice climber, surfer, world traveller, and accomplished rider with multiple North American road trips under her belt.
In the balmy province of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, it’s always riding season. Freed from the limitations of weather known to Canadian riders, Eduardo rides his Harley® seven days a week, 365 days a year. When he’s not riding, Eduardo enjoys restoring and customizing classic cars with his father. A devout Catholic, Eduardo follows a strict habit of having his bike blessed before any long trip. In the last year alone, he’s ridden his Harley® from Monterrey north to Austin, Texas, and south to the jungles of San Luis Potosi.
When riders want information on riding the world famous Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, they don’t call the Nova Scotia Tourism Office, they call Daniel. The self-styled “Cabot Trail Biker,” Daniel knows anything and everything about the Cabot Trail, and takes pride in helping riders from around the world experience what he believes is the best ride in Canada.
A common form of transportation in India, SAC has been riding motorcycles since he was a teenager. Still, even with decades of experience, between the heat of a Harley® engine in the Indian sun and the country’s infamous roads, it takes a special kind of rider to handle a Harley®. A professional magician and entertainer for fifteen years, SAC considers riding part transportation, part meditation.
